Employment Services at The New Leaf Initiative
Could you be excluding motivated work-ready talent whilst struggling to recruit reliable, work-ready employees?
WE HAVE THE ANSWER!
At the New Leaf Initiative CIC, we believe that hiring people with convictions is good for business. But how do we know this? Because we've been practicing what we preach for 10 years and the only people to have stolen or threatened the company were people without the labels our colleagues often carry... Helping ex-prisoners find stable jobs not only benefits them but also strengthens society, improving reintegration, and boosting the economy.
We work with employers from a number of sectors including construction, hospitality, retail, warehousing and logistics, and manufacturing, to support their recruitment from our talent pool of risk assessed clients.
Why Employment Matters
There are over 13 million people in the UK with a conviction, mostly driving convictions.
86% of employers hiring ex-offenders rated them as being good at their jobs.
92% say hiring ex-offenders has helped the diversity in their organisations.
Statistics also show the importance of employment in reducing reoffending rates:
Reoffending rates drop by up to 33% when an individual secures a stable job after release. Without work, many return to crime simply out of desperation.
75% of ex-prisoners remain unemployed a year after their release, highlighting the difficulty of re-entering the workforce and the need for targeted support.
Employment provides financial stability, a sense of purpose, and an opportunity to rebuild one’s life, leading to greater social cohesion and less strain on public services.
