New Leaf Trainees

Our first learners joined the programme in June 2021 where they began their journey with 2 weeks work preparatory training at the New Leaf offices. This included reflective work to understand their personal skills, strengths and values, alongside employability skills including producing their CV, applying for vacancies and interview practice.

Interview Suits

We organised suit fittings at Suited for Success, so they could make the best impression when they meet potential employers as well as gaining even more tips and advice on interviews.

Volunteering

They did a day volunteering for The Active Wellbeing Society (TAWS) where they assisting with producing food parcels for distribution through Food Banks. The trainees loved doing something where they felt they were working and also giving something back to the community.

Employer Meeting

Equans/Engie kindly agreed to meet the trainees at the New Leaf office, with a presentation about Career Paths into Construction, as well as sharing useful advice on applying for jobs and apprenticeships. The trainees loved the experience.

Work Experience

Equans/Engie offered all three trainees a four week work experience placement, which they started late July based on a new build construction site. They have already gained really valuable experience and advice and are ready to kick-start their careers in Construction!

We will continue to share more of their journey and news in the coming months!
